Viktor opts for US Citizenship 1902

But for the moment  Viktor did not let go of his wish to move to  America and  start there with a new life.

In 1902, after completing  his service on the SMS Kaiserin Elisabeth, he even opted for the American citizenship.

 

 

Be it remembered that on the 24 day of July in the year of the Lord, one thousand and nine hundred and two before me, Maurice J.Stack, Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas, in and for the County of Hudson personally appeared Victor Meissl,    an Alien,   a native of   Austria  aged about 28 years, who being duly sworn, according to the law, on his oath doth declare and say that he arrived in the United States...That it is bona fide intention to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Aber Viktor ließ vorerst  von seinem Wunsche nach Amerika zu gehen und dort eine neue Existenz aufzubauen, nicht ab.

1902, nachdem er seinen Dienst auf der SMS Kaiserin Elisabeth beendet hatte, optierte er sogar für die Amerikanische Staatsbürgerschaft.
